Paper Prints Policy
The Journal of Translational Research offers both digital and printed versions of its published articles. While the journal primarily focuses on providing free access to high-quality research via digital formats, we recognize that printed versions of articles may be required by authors, institutions, or readers for various purposes. This Paper Prints Policy outlines the procedures, costs, and availability of printed copies for our readers and authors.
1. Availability of Printed Copies:
- Individual Article Prints: Authors, readers, or institutions that wish to receive printed copies of individual articles published in the journal may request them. Printed copies of articles are available upon request and subject to availability.
- Complete Issue Prints: Printed copies of an entire issue are available to institutions, libraries, or other entities that require them. These copies can be requested directly from the journal.
2. Requesting Paper Prints:
- How to Request Printed Copies: Requests for printed copies of individual articles or full issues can be made by contacting the editorial office via email or through the journal’s online platform. Institutions may also place bulk orders for printed copies if necessary.
- Request Form: Authors, readers, and institutions should fill out a request form that includes their details (name, institutional affiliation, contact information), the title of the article or issue requested, and the number of copies needed.
3. Costs of Printed Copies:
- Printing Fees: Printed copies of individual articles or issues are subject to printing and shipping fees. The cost will depend on factors such as the number of pages in the article or issue, the number of copies requested, and the shipping destination.
- Article Print Fees: Authors are eligible for a limited number of complimentary printed copies of their own articles. Additional copies may be purchased at the standard rate.
- Issue Print Fees: The cost for a complete issue print will vary depending on the length of the issue and the number of copies requested.
- Shipping Fees: Shipping costs will be calculated based on the number of copies requested and the destination. The cost will be communicated to the requesting party when the print order is processed.
4. Free Printed Copies for Authors:
- Complimentary Copies for Authors: As part of our commitment to supporting authors, Journal of Translational Research provides a limited number of complimentary printed copies of each published article to the corresponding author. Typically, this includes up to 10 printed copies per article. Additional copies can be purchased at the prevailing rates.
- Additional Copies: Authors wishing to order more than the complimentary printed copies can do so by paying the standard fees for additional prints. These can be requested at the time of manuscript acceptance or after publication.
5. Shipping and Delivery:
- Processing Time: Once the request is received and the payment is processed, the printed copies will be printed and shipped within 7-10 business days. The timeline may vary depending on the volume of requests and the destination.
- Shipping Costs: The cost of shipping will be added to the final cost for printed copies. Shipping charges will be provided to the requesting party at the time the request is confirmed.
- International Shipping: For international orders, shipping times may vary. The journal will provide an estimated delivery date based on the destination. Any customs duties or import taxes applicable to international shipments are the responsibility of the requesting party.
6. Environmental Considerations:
While we offer printed copies for those who require them, Journal of Translational Research encourages readers and institutions to primarily utilize the digital version of the journal. This reduces paper waste and contributes to more sustainable academic publishing practices. We remain committed to minimizing our environmental impact and supporting green initiatives within the academic community.
7. Quality Assurance:
- Print Quality: All printed copies of articles and issues will be produced to the highest quality standards. The journal ensures that the printed version is clear and legible, preserving the integrity of the original digital content.
- Replacement of Defective Copies: If printed copies are damaged or defective upon arrival, the author or requesting party can contact the editorial office for a reprint. Defective copies will be replaced at no additional cost.
8. Refund and Return Policy:
- No Returns: Due to the customized nature of the printed copies, returns are not accepted once the copies have been shipped.
Refunds for Damaged Copies: If printed copies are damaged during shipping, authors or institutions may request a reprint or a refund for the damaged copies. Refunds will be processed once the issue is verified, and the damaged copies are returned.
